Andong

For Columbus Day weekend, we went on a trip to Andong — the cradle of Korean traditional culture…and of course, home of the famous Andong Jjimdalk and Andong Soju (40%+ alcohol as opposed to the avg 20%). In between stuffing our faces with delicious local cuisine, we spent the beautiful Autumn weekend walking around Hahoe Village, watching mask dance performance, visiting Byeongsan Seowon, hiking up to Buyongdae cliff for a breathtaking view of Haehoe, and to complete the experience, we spent the night in a Hanok, tried our hands at archery and some traditional painting. And yes, we all passed out on the bus ride home…
